How did you get into your current job/field?

I trained as a stage manager and quickly realised it wasn't for me, so I taught myself to code. I spent many years as a software engineer, then found I needed to improve some deployment processes and discovered Octopus. I joined in 2019, working on what was then our Solutions team, helping customers do their best deploying. I now lead our global TAM team.

What's a fun fact about you that people may not know?

If you want me to smile in a photo, make sure I have food in my hand!

What is your favourite project you've worked on at Octopus Deploy so far?

A customer was terrified of upgrading their Octopus instance after bad experiences. I worked closely with them to transform upgrades from something they dreaded into something they could actually look forward to. After their first successful upgrade, the feature they were most excited about? Dark mode!

Do you have any hobbies outside of work?

Getting out into nature as much as possible and reading.

What excites you most about working at Octopus Deploy?

Watching us grow from 50 people to where we are today, while keeping what made us good in the first place - the people actually care about solving real problems for customers. And those problems matter - when deployment stops being a nightmare for engineering teams, they can focus on building things that actually improve people's lives.

If you could eat one meal for the rest of forever - what would it be?

Steak.

I spent too many years thinking 'I'll be happy when...' - turns out the interesting stuff is happening right now.
