Jed Lehmann

How did you get into your current job/field?

I started out in graphic & web design. Through 11 years in agencies, I became an expert in visual communication. I built brands that connected meaningfully with their audiences.

But I came to realize I wanted a career that would really challenge me and evolve over time. Agency work wasn’t offering that opportunity. I knew that product design and tech would offer that, so I made a plan to dive into that world.

In 2015, I landed my first job as a product designer, and haven't looked back!

I love creating intuitive products that help users get the job done. It's incredibly rewarding to see people using products I’ve designed to make their lives easier.

What's a fun fact about you that people may not know?

My family auditioned to be in a bank advert in the late 90s. They rejected us all except for my dad who became famous for 15 seconds for his "laughing all the way to the bank" quote.

What is your favorite project you've worked on at Octopus Deploy so far?

The reimagining of the Octopus onboarding experience in 2022 was a fundamental shift in how we approach onboarding. And it resulted in a significant increase in activation rate.

Do you have any hobbies outside of work?

I love teeing off anytime I want with my home golf simulator – no weather, no waiting, just pure golfing bliss!

What excites you most about working at Octopus Deploy?

I'm lucky in my role to have the opportunity to work with a great bunch of designers and leaders across Octopus – and no shortage of interesting challenges to keep us engaged.

If you could eat one meal for the rest of forever - what would it be?

Is it cheating to say sandwich!? Could have a different sandwich every day for the rest of my life and never get bored.
