We are Octopus

At Octopus, we create happy deployments, and by extension, happy software teams.

Our vision is for all software teams to look forward to deployment time; to be excited about seeing their changes deployed and used by their customers. We want them to deploy more and more frequently, and to feel 100% confident it will just work.

Our founders

Paul and Sonia Stovell

Paul and Sonia Stovell founded Octopus Deploy in 2012. In the years before, Paul had watched programmers at organizations of all sizes routinely remote into production machines to patch configuration files or write long and semi-complete documents because automating deployments was too time-consuming.

These practices were hampering organizations' ability to deliver and give their customers confidence. The concept of Octopus came about to solve those problems. Today, we still believe wholeheartedly in the importance of automated, frequent, repeatable deployments.

Octopus Deploy's mission

Infinity loop with people sitting doing work on a laptop

We aim to be the category-defining solution for deployment and operations automation. Achieving this doesn't just mean solving valuable problems, but doing it at a scale that touches software teams everywhere.

Our Slack channels are also a lot of fun. Find out how Albus got on at Crufts, or how our fitness fanatics went in their last race. If DIY or baking is your thing, you'll find channels for those too.
